Montana Through My Lens: A Weekend of Big Skies

The woods around me were alive with the steady tapping of woodpeckers, but no matter how hard I looked, they stayed hidden in the trees. While I waited with my camera, this robin showed up in the grass, bright and calm, going about its day. I realized the photo I thought I wanted was of the woodpecker, but this was the moment I was meant to catch instead.
Below is a slideshow of all photographs I was able to catch of the dozens of robins around us.
One of the highlights of our stay was the deer that wandered through the property each morning and evening. We would look out from the loft or step onto the deck with coffee in hand, watching as they moved quietly between the trees, unhurried and calm. It felt like they were letting us share a small piece of their world, reminding us how different the rhythm of life is here compared to home. These moments, simple yet beautiful, became some of our favorite memories from the trip.

This slideshow features all of the deer we were lucky enough to see during our stay. Each photo captures a quiet moment with these gentle visitors who made the mountains feel even more alive.
